Kowloon City kicked off the match with high intensity, with Lam Hok Hei almost capitalizing on a long pass to create a one-on-one situation, only to be thwarted by the quick response of Tai Po's goalkeeper, Tse Ka Wing.

After weathering the early pressure, Tai Po found their rhythm and took charge of the proceedings. In the 10th minute, a well-executed corner by Igor Sartori found Marcos Santos, whose header fell just short of connecting with Chan Siu Kwan Philip.

However, Kowloon City quickly responded, leveling the score at 1:1 just six minutes later. Diego Eli showcased his skills with a powerful left-footed strike from the edge of the area that found the back of the net.

Both sides continued to create opportunities, with Igor Sartori's free-kick for Tai Po and Willian Leonardo's volley for Kowloon City testing the opposition goalkeepers.

A swift counterattack by Kowloon City saw Kayron's attempt denied by the Tai Po shot-stopper, maintaining the scoreline.

In the dying moments of the first half, Tai Po regained their lead. Michel Renner's impressive dribble and cross from the right found Chan Siu Kwan Philip, who expertly headed home to make it 2:1 at the break.

The second half commenced with Tai Po asserting their dominance just one minute in, as Chan Siu Kwan Philip set up Michel Renner for a clinical finish, extending their lead to 3:1.

Tai Po continued to press forward, with Lucas Da Silva coming close and Chan Siu Kwan Philip hitting the woodwork.
