Eastern and Kitchee are set to lock horns in Hong Kong Stadium on Lunar New Year's Day for the highly anticipated Senior Shield Final. The epic clash will kick-off at 16:00.

Eastern started this season's Senior Shield competition by defeating RCFC 3:1 in the quarter-final. The side then scrapped by BC Rangers 1:0 in the semi-final, courtesy of a Victor Bertomeu match winner. With two goals under his name in the competition, striker Victor Bertomeu emerges as Eastern's leading scorer in the competition and is poised to test the Kitchee defense on Chinese New Year's Day.

However, fellow Eastern attacker Emilio Tsai and Sun Ming-him should not be overlooked, as both players have been in fine form this season, while also having scored for Eastern in the Senior Shield competition. At the back, first-choice goalkeeper Yapp Hung-fai and midfield anchor Leung Chun-pong have been extremely steady and remain the pillar of strength for Eastern.

Kitchee kicked-off its Senior Shield adventure by cruising past HKFC 5:0 in Round 1 of the competition. The Shek Mun side then beat Kwoon Chung Southern 4:1 in the quarter-final and secured a berth in the final four. In the semi-final, Kitchee duly made light work of Lee Man, defeated the ambitious side through a commanding 4:0 victory and locked up a place in this season's Senior Shield Final.

With a roster full of talented offensive weapons, Kitchee could understandably be seen as the favorite on Sunday's showdown match. Dejan Damjanovic and Rusland Mingazov have been practically on fire in the Senior Shield, scoring four and three goals respectively. Complimented by creative attackers such as Cleiton Velasques and Mikael Severo, Kitchee definitely has the potential to put Eastern under severe pressure.
