Hong Kong Football Association will let fans in again for matches since this Saturday

2021-02-18

As Government begins to relax social distancing measures gradually, Hong Kong Football Association (HKFA) also understands many fans expressed their eagerness to attend the stadiums to watch the matches and has been closely communicating with the government in order to let fans in while in compliance with public health safety. According to the latest guidelines for sports premises, HKFA could organize Hong Kong Premier League under certain requirements and restrictions, HKFA announced today that we could let fans in again for matches starting from February 20 (Saturday), the stands will be opened, and the maximum number of seats occupied would not exceed 50% and no more than 4 consecutive seats in the same row could be occupied.

The first match that will be reopened for the public will be group match of Sapling Cup, which will be held at 3pm on February 20 (Saturday) at Siu Sai Wan Sports Ground, with Kwoon Chung Southern vs Happy Valley. And the second match will be held at Mong Kok Stadium at 7pm on the same day with Kitchee vs Tin Shui Wai Pegasus. The tickets will be available for purchase on the match day at the ticket office of the stadium. Ticket price will be $80 and concession ticket price will be $30 (only limited amount of concession ticket will be available). Ticket will be available for purchase from 90 minutes before the match kick-off and until the start of the second half of the match.

HKFA follows the guidelines and suggestions from the government and our Medical Committee in implementing the safety and hygiene measures at the stadiums and the arrangement would be similar with the previous match resumption earlier this season. Upon entry, fans need to submit health declaration forms collected by HKFA ( online version or submit form on-site, and the health declaration form already includes information required by the government requirements which contains names, contact phone numbers,  date and time of the visit ) and have temperature checks. At the same time, fans can also choose to scan the LeaveHomeSafe QR code in order to provide fans with a convenient digital tool for recording the time of their visits to different venues. The mobile app will notify a user if he or she is later identified to have visited the same venue. In the unfortunate event of infection, the user's visit records stored in the app can assist the Department of Health's Centre for Health Protection (CHP) in epidemiological investigations and trace other close contact

Moreover, fans needs to wear masks properly inside the stadium. In addition, eating will be prohibited yet drinking in cups and paper containers will be allowed. In order to maintain personal hygiene, disposable cups will not be provided in the stadiums.

In view of the current situation, team officials and players still need to follow medical guideline and precautionary measures, including taking Covid-19 test in a regular basis, staying at home as much as possible and avoid social gatherings, using point-to-point transportation services to and from training and match venues in order to reduce social contact and minimize the risk.

In addition, refer to the earlier announcement that the previously scheduled football match in Sapling Cup Semi-final held at 3pm on February 24 at Siu Sai Wan Sports Ground with 1st Place of Group B vs. 2nd Place of Group A and the football match of Week 3 in 2020-21 BOC Life Hong Kong Premier League held at 3pm on February 27 at Siu Sai Wan Sports Ground with Kwoon Chung Southern vs. Kitchee would be rescheduled in order to allow the players to have at least 72 hours of rest between matches and attract more fans to attend the matches.
