2019-2020 Jockey Club Futsal League (Div.1) - League Update


A fiery 2019-2020 Jockey Club Futsal League (Div. 1) clash between Tuen Mun and Wong Tai Sin took place in Ma On Shan Sports Centre on Thursday evening. Both sides traded goals in a wide-open affair but had to eventually settle on a 3:3 draw at the final whistle.

Barely a minute into the game, Tuen Mun came up with the first scoring chance. Wong Yu-hin’s corner-kick was drilled towards the Wong Tai Sin goal by Ip Kwok-hei. However, Ip’s shot went wide off target and Wong Tai Sin dodged a bullet on the occasion.

On the 5th minute, Tuen Mun converted on its chance and opened the score. Chau Cho-wai cut towards the middle from the flank and smashed the ball home, opening the score for Tuen Mun.

It was still Tuen Mun afterwards. On the 13th minute, Leung Wai-lok picked up the ball through a teammate’s timely pass on a counter-attack, then finished things off with a solid strike, putting Tuen Mun in front 2:0.

Wong Tai Sin dug deep and managed to pull one back before half-time. On the 18th minute, Cheung Wai-leong unleashed a cracking strike from mid-range and found the back of the Tuen Mun net. It was now 2:1 with Wong Tai Sin trailing by a goal.

Wong Tai Sin came up with a half-decent chance early in the second-half to tie the game. On the 23rd minute, Kwan Lo-ka’s shot from the Tuen Mun doorstep was finely charged away by goalkeeper Sin Yau-ting.

On the other end, it was Tuen Mun that managed to score the next goal, as Ip Kwok-hei’s shot was nicely saved by the Wong Tai Sin goalkeeper. Chou Cho-wai converted the rebound and tucked the ball home. It was now 3:1 with Tuen Mun in front.

Wong Tai Sin managed to pull one back on the 27th minute, as Tuen Mun goalkeeper fumbled a shot from Wong Tai Sin’s Cheung Wai-leong. The ball somehow found its way into the gaping net. It was now 3:2 with Wong Tai sin once again trailing by a goal.

Late in the game, Cheung Wai-leong’s free-kick took a deflection off a Tuen Mun player and went into the net. Wong Tai Sin equalized and made it 3:3.

The score stood towards the final whistle, as Tuen Mun and Wong Tai Sin shook hands on a 3:3 draw.
