In the morning’s Under-18 competition, Hong Kong started the game stronger and laid early pressure towards the Vietnam goal. The host kept the pressure coming in the first-half but somehow failed to break down the Vietnam defense, as the score stood goalless heading into the interval.
Ten minutes into the second-half, Vo Nguyen Hoang broke the game open for the visitors and Vietnam was up by a goal. Just when the game looked like it would end in a Vietnam victory, Hong Kong’s Connor Tong found the back of the Vietnam goal through a tight-angle shot, tying the game at 1:1 and rescuing a point for Hong Kong.
On the other pitch in the same venue, goals from Myanmar’s Wai Yan Soe and Pyae Phyo Aung helped their side to clinch a 2:1 comeback victory over Singapore. With the victory, Myanmar became the champions of the Jockey Club International Youth Invitational Football Tournament 2019 (Under-18).

In the second-half, Muhammad Aliff found the back of the Hong Kong net once again on the 51st minute. Hong Kong tried to break the goose-egg but simply could not unlock the Malaysia backline. At the end, the home side suffered a crushing 0:4 defeat on the hands of Malaysia.
