2014/15 21st Disciplinary Committee Meeting (29 June 2015) - Decision on case concerning Sasa Mus


According to the Certificate of Trial of Eastern Magistrates’ Court and Press Release of ICAC on 15 December 2014, Mr. Sasa Mus, a former player of Happy Valley Football club, earlier found guilty of one count of conspiracy to defraud the HVAA and the HKFA, contrary to the Common Law. He was sentenced to 12 months' imprisonment at Eastern Magistracy after being convicted of conspiracy to fix the result of a football match of the First Division League organized by the Hong Kong Football Association (HKFA). As the player recently forwent his decision of appealing the sentence, he was subsequently also disciplinary charged by HKFA. HKFA charged the player according to the abovementioned information on hand, with the application for supplementary court documents issued by the Eastern Magistrates’ Court. Due to time required for processing the document application by the Court, and to provide sufficient time to the abovementioned player to response to the charge, the case was scheduled to be dealt by the Disciplinary Committee at the meeting on 29 June 2015.

The Disciplinary Committee meeting was held on 29 June 2015. Basing on the aforesaid information and after full consideration, the HKFA Disciplinary Committee delivered the decision as follows:

  1. The player, Sasa Mus was found guilty of having violated provisions of HKFA Disciplinary Code 2014/15 (in breach of Chapter 4, Clause 3.1.22).
  2. The accused, Sasa Mus was ordered to be suspended for life. Sasa Mus is not allowed to participate (including as a role of players or officials) in any matches or activities organized by HKFA.
  3. The suspension would be made known to FIFA & AFC.
  4. The above suspension would be effective at 12 noon, on 30 June 2015.
