Kitchee started the match with a focus on wing play, with player Ma Lok Sepherey delivering several crosses from the left, all of which were cleared by the defenders. Kitchee opened the scoring in the 18th minute when Chan Yin Hei delivered a cross from the right, and Pang Hing Hei headed it in. Continuing their momentum into the second half, Kitchee maintained their attacking play. In the 54th minute, Chan Shing Chun twisted past two defenders in the box but had his shot saved. Four minutes later, Lau Yat Laam Nigel surged down the right and crossed for Yu Ching Kok, who scored from close range, making it 3:0.
Not easing off, Chan Shing Chun showcased his skills again, maneuvering into the box from the left and taking a shot that was saved, but Yu Ching Kok was on hand to score the rebound. In the 79th minute, Chan Yin Lok’s cross from the right found Yu Ching Kok, who easily headed in to complete the scoreline at 5:0.
After the match, Chan Shing Chun commented on the team's performance: “It was as expected. We focused on building up play on the ground, slowly progressing our attacks, and hoping to find goals through crosses. The first goal from a header quickly opened the scoring, allowing us to play more comfortably.”
Looking ahead to the final against Hong Kong Football Club, Chan Shing Chun noted, “They are faster and more physically dominant than us. The team needs to improve our physical conditioning and strategize on how to get into the game quickly.”
