Sai Kung enjoyed a dream start, breaking the deadlock after just five minutes. IP Hoi Lun intercepted a stray pass deep in his own half before embarking on a surging run, eventually unleashing a powerful strike from the edge of the area to make it 1-0.
The tempo intensified as both sides traded blows, but it wasn't until the 14th minute that Wong Tai Sin found their clinical edge. HEUNG Pak Qiu whipped a dangerous ball toward the near post from the right flank, allowing CHOW Hei Long to remain composed amidst a goalmouth scramble and poke home the equaliser.
The momentum shifted firmly in Wong Tai Sin’s favour thereafter. In the 16th minute, LIN Chi Shing latched onto a defense-splitting through ball to finish from close range, turning the game on its head at 2-1. The pressure told again in the 18th minute when LEUNG Sin Fung rifled home from point-blank range, ensuring Wong Tai Sin headed into the interval with a comfortable 3-1 cushion.
Wong Tai Sin emerged for the second half with renewed aggression, testing the Sai Kung backline repeatedly from corner set-pieces. The influential CHU Chun Yuen extended the lead to 4-1 in the 24th minute following a slick team move. Less than sixty seconds later, a midfield interception allowed HUI Ka Ching to punish a defensive lapse, stretching the advantage to a seemingly insurmountable 5-1. When LIN Chi Shing danced past his marker on the right to bag his second in the 27th minute, the scoreline read a dominant 6-1.
To their credit, Sai Kung refused to lie down. Captain MA Man Ching spearheaded a spirited fightback, driving into the box from the right to pull one back in the 28th minute (6-2). The goal breathed new life into the side; while CHOI Yik San saw an initial effort saved, he made no mistake in the 30th minute, converting an S18 through ball to make it 6-3. In a frantic six-minute spell, CHOI Yik San struck again to narrow the gap to 6-4, leaving Wong Tai Sin rattled.
The comeback was cruelly dampened in the 35th minute when CHAN Ping Hei inadvertently turned the ball into his own net during a chaotic scramble, gifting Wong Tai Sin a 7-4 lead. Despite the setback, Sai Kung continued to play on the break in a breathless end-to-end finale.
The contest was finally put to bed in the dying seconds. The standout CHU Chun Yuen clinicaly secured his second of the night to wrap up an 8-4 win, ensuring Wong Tai Sin walked away with all three points after an enthralling display of Futsal.
