Eastern met up with KC Southern at Mong Kok Stadium on Sunday afternoon (18th January) for the 2025-26 BOC Life Hong Kong Premier League clash. Eastern beat KC Southern by 3:1.
In the 10th minute, Acosta passed the ball wide from the right, but Stefan's shot went over the bar. In the 16th minute, Okubo headed in a cross, but Ng Wai-him made a diving save. In the 29th minute, Southern District broke the deadlock. Sasaki Shu threw in a throw-in, Acosta crossed from the right, and Stefan tapped in from close range to open the scoring for the visitors. In the 34th minute, Southern District almost extended their lead. Leung Chun-pong's header clearance was poor, and Chan Yun-tung's shot under close marking from Lorenz was saved by Ko-chun. At halftime, Southern District led 1-0.
In the 59th minute, Marcos crossed the ball into the middle, and Lam Hin-ting fired a powerful shot from outside the box to equalize for the home team at 1-1. In the 68th minute, the Southern District threatened the opponent's defense again. Sasaki Shu received a pass from Acosta and went straight into the penalty area, but his shot only grazed the post.
