In the 23rd minute, Lee Chun-ting was brought down in the box by Jim Ho-chun, yet after a VAR review, the referee decided against awarding a penalty. The visitors continued to press, and in the 41st minute, Luzinho’s corner found teammate, whose header was safely collected by goalkeeper. The first half ended goalless.

HKFC failed to find an equalizer despite 10 minutes of added time, as Kowloon City sealed a 1–0 victory to record their second consecutive league win.
