The Football Association of Hong Kong, China (HKFA) proudly congratulates its Honorary President, Mr. Timothy Fok Tsun Ting GBM, GBS, JP, on being awarded the prestigious AFC Diamond of Asia at the AFC Awards Riyadh 2025. This honour recognises his decadeslong and distinguished contributions to Asian football and international sport.

Mr. Fok has served the HKFA since 1973 and held the position of President from 1997 to 2023. During his tenure, he led the professionalisation of Hong Kong football, advanced youth development systems, and oversaw significant infrastructure improvements.

In 2011, he launched the Phoenix Project to elevate youth training standards, and in 2014, he played a pivotal role in establishing the Hong Kong Premier League, revitalising the local football landscape. Beyond his contributions in Hong Kong, Mr. Fok has actively supported the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), serving on its Executive Committee from 2018 to 2019. He continues to promote regional football development as a member of the Board of Trustees of the AFC Dream Asia Foundation.

Internationally, Mr. Fok served as a member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) for over 15 years and is now an Honorary Member. In 2018, he received the Olympic Order (Silver) for his outstanding service to global sport. As First Vice President of the Olympic Council of Asia, he played a key role in the success of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games and served on the FIFA Organising Committee for the Olympic Football Tournaments.

AFC President Shaikh Salman bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa stated: “Mr. Timothy Fok has dedicated over five decades to the advancement of sport. His contributions are profound and far-reaching, and he stands as a true icon of Asian sport.”

Mr. Fok is the 18th recipient of the AFC Diamond of Asia, joining a distinguished group of honorees including FIFA President Gianni Infantino (2023), the late Saoud Al-Mohannadi of Qatar (2022), the then King of Malaysia and current Sultan of Pahang, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah (2019), and former Acting President of the AFC Zhang Jilong of China PR (2018). The HKFA is deeply honoured by Mr. Fok’s recognition and looks forward to his continued inspiration as Hong Kong football strives for new heights.
