In a thrilling encounter at the Jockey Club HKFA Football Training Centre, TSL FC clinched a convincing 3:0 victory over Kitchee in the prestigious Jockey Club Women's Youth Football League (U15) FA Cup final on Sunday (June 8).
The opening exchanges saw both sides feeling their way into the contest, with neither team able to assert dominance in the final third. However, TSL FC gradually began to dictate proceedings, crafting their first clear-cut opportunity in the 16th minute when WONG TSZ YIU's pinpoint free-kick delivery found CHOW PUI KEI unmarked at the far post, only for their effort to cannon off the woodwork. The momentum continued to swing in TSL FC's favor as CHOW PUI KEI threatened again from a tight angle following a well-worked corner routine, but could only find the side netting. While Kitchee's direct approach failed to penetrate, TSL FC's lightning-quick transitions kept their opponents on the back foot. The breakthrough finally came on the stroke of halftime when the industrious HO KWA LAM showed great predatory instincts to pounce on a rebound after CHOW PUI KEI's initial attempt was parried, sending TSL FC into the interval with a slender advantage.
The second period saw Kitchee emerge with renewed vigor, with AU SHUN KA spearheading their offensive push but lacking the necessary power when presented with a gilt-edged opportunity in a one-on-one situation. TSL FC's resilient defense weathered the storm before CHOW PUI KEI demonstrated exceptional composure to double the lead, expertly picking out the far corner after being released through on goal. The final goal came in the 74th minute when WONG TSZ YIU made no mistake from the penalty spot after CHOW PUI KEI was upended in the area, completing a comprehensive 3:0 victory and securing the coveted championship for the Jockey Club Women’s Youth Football League (U15) FA Cup.
