In a thrilling encounter at the Jockey Club HKFA Football Training Centre Pitch No.4 on Saturday (May 17), Wong Tai Sin clinched the Jockey Club Women's Football League (2nd Division) title with a dramatic 1:0 victory over Hoi King.

The champions-elect started the match in commanding fashion, controlling the tempo from the first whistle. Their early dominance nearly paid dividends in the 7th minute when striker Siu Ka Hei latched onto an incisive through ball, only to be denied by the woodwork in a one-on-one situation with Hoi King's goalkeeper Chan Hoi Man. The relentless pressure continued as Ho Tsz Ching showcased exceptional footwork in the 14th minute, weaving past two defenders before unleashing a left-footed effort that was expertly parried away by the in-form Chan Hoi Man. The attacking onslaught persisted when pacey winger Siu Ka Hei terrorized the right flank moments later, cutting inside with purpose before firing a venomous left-footed drive that drew another spectacular save from the keeper. Hoi King's first meaningful attack came in the 20th minute when forward Chan Tin Sung found space in the danger area but squandered the opportunity by dragging their close-range effort wide of the target.

After a goalless first period, Hoi King emerged from the tunnel with renewed vigor. The resurgent side tested Wong Tai Sin's resolve through Cheung Hoi Yee Heidi's ambitious long-range effort in the 47th minute, followed by Chan Tin Sung 's quick snapshot that forced a smart save from the keeper. Wong Tai Sin weathered the storm and reasserted their authority on proceedings. The 55th minute saw Ng Siu Wing connect with Chong Hei Yu's precise delivery from the right flank, but their goal-bound attempt was thwarted by another fine save. Ng Siu Wing then unleashed a thunderbolt from the edge of the area, only to be denied by the goalkeeper's fingertip intervention. Despite their overwhelming superiority, Wong Tai Sin struggled to breach Hoi King's resolute defensive unit until fate intervened in the dying moments. From a left-wing corner, Hoi King's Chan Tin Sung tragically diverted the ball into their own net while attempting a defensive clearance.

The final whistle confirmed Wong Tai Sin's coronation as league champions, their season-long excellence ultimately rewarded by this 1:0 victory, sealed by that late dramatic own goal.
