BC Rangers met up with Eastern in Tseung Kwan O Sports Ground on Sunday afternoon (1st December) for the 2024-25 HKFA Senior Shield Semi-Final clash. Eastern beat BC Rangers by 3:1 and promoted to the Final.

Eastern roared into an early lead after just 10 minutes through a brilliantly crafted team move. The industrious Ma Hei Wai combined expertly with Lam Hin Ting before threading a defense-splitting pass into the danger area. The clinical Baffoe Noah showed tremendous composure to round the advancing Shilakotin Oleksii before coolly slotting home into the unguarded net.

BC Rangers nearly found an equalizer in the 21st minute when the creative Okamoto Akito’s precise long-range pass found Lau Chi Lok in space. The forward burst into the box but saw his goal-bound effort expertly denied by the veteran goalkeeper Yapp Hung Fai.

BC Rangers capitalized on a rare defensive error just before the interval. A misplaced pass from Yapp Hung Fai fell kindly to the opportunistic Lau Chi Lok, who made no mistake with a clinical right-footed finish into the empty net, sending the teams into the break all square at 1:1.

Eastern regained control shortly after the restart when Yu Joy Yin Jesse’s pinpoint corner kick from the left flank was met with a thunderous header by Daniel Vera, leaving the keeper with no chance as the ball nestled into the back of the net.

BC Rangers threatened an equalizer in the 63rd minute through Chang Kwong Yin’s dangerous delivery from the left wing, but the Lee Ching’s header was comfortably gathered by the alert goalkeeper.

Eastern continued to dominate proceedings, with Ma Hei Wai’s teasing cross finding Yu Joy Yin, whose effort sailed narrowly over the crossbar. Moments later, the skillful Felipe Alexandre orchestrated a sublime attacking move, releasing Baffoe Noah who finished with aplomb, only for VAR to intervene and rule the effort offside.

The relentless Eastern pressure continued as Felipe Alexander showcased his dribbling prowess in the 82nd minute, cutting in from the right before unleashing a fierce left-footed drive that drew a spectacular save from the goalkeeper.

Eastern finally put the contest beyond doubt in stoppage time through a moment of brilliance. Yu Joy Yin’s defense-splitting through ball released the lethal Baffoe Noah, who demonstrated exceptional composure to round the keeper and slot home his second of the afternoon, sealing an emphatic 3:1 victory and booking Eastern's place in the Senior Shield final.
