Right from the kickoff, Tai Po, the hosts, launched a relentless offensive assault, netting two goals within the first 6 minutes. The first goal saw Michel Renner execute a dazzling midfield breakthrough, setting up Luiz Humberto who clinically dispatched the ball into the net for a 1:0 advantage. Shortly after, a shot from Lucas Da Silva was thwarted by a defender, but Lee Ka Ho capitalised with a fortuitous left-footed strike from outside the penalty area that curved into the top left corner, bolstering Tai Po's lead to 2:0.

By the 77th minute, Tai Po's offensive dominance continued unabated. A through ball from Michel Renner set up Lucas Da Silva for a shot in the box, but it was deftly saved by the goalkeeper.
Hong Kong Football Club's most promising opportunity came in the 88th minute. Paulo Robspierry's header from a right-wing cross was spectacularly saved by the goalkeeper. A subsequent shot by Gustao Henrique, following Paulo Robspierry's pass, was again denied by the steadfast goalkeeper. Lau Hok Ming's subsequent rebound shot also failed to hit the target.
In a cruel twist of fate for Hong Kong Football Club, they conceded another goal during stoppage time. A pass from Luiz Humberto deflected off a defender, falling perfectly for Michel Renner who easily slotted home.
Finally, Tai Po clinched a commanding 3:0 victory over Hong Kong Football Club, bagging all three points.
