Kwoon Chung Southern met Sham Shui Po at Aberdeen Sports Ground on Saturday afternoon for the 2023-24 BOC Life Hong Kong Premier League fixture of the day. Sham Shui Po got a 2:0 victory over Kwoon Chung Southern. 

Sham Shui Po FC made a blistering start in the fixture, taking the lead just three minutes in. A cross from the right flank by Kiranbir Singh was inadequately cleared by Kwoon Chung Southern defenders, providing Dunga with a golden opportunity. He made no mistake, driving a powerful left-footed strike into the far corner of the net, putting Sham Shui Po FC up 1:0.

Subsequently, Kwoon Chung Southern launched a series of attacking moves, but Merkies Raphael's effort after cutting inside from right was efficiently saved by the goalkeeper.

Enjoying the home-field advantage, Kwoon Chung Southern began to exert some dominance. However, a powerful strike by Chen Ngo Hin in the 32nd minute, following a clever pass from Sasaki Shu, veered off target.

Kwoon Chung Southern created another opening later in the match, with Jackson Franklim's pinpoint pass managing to breach the opponent's defense. Regrettably, Merkies Raphael hesitated momentarily and his effort was foiled by the goalkeeper. The first half concluded with Sham Shui Po ahead 1:0.

In the second half, Kwoon Chung Southern upped the ante, looking for the equalizer. Merkies Raphael, receiving a pass from Sasaki Shu, made a promising run into the penalty area, but his shot was expertly blocked by Narh.

In the 58th minute, Kwoon Chung Southern had another close call, with Tomas Maronesi's header from a corner kick on the right narrowly missing the goal.

Sham Shui Po also had their chances, notably when Lee Ka Yiu of Kwoon Chung Southern lost possession in his own half. Chang Kwong Yin latched onto the loose ball, made a surging run into the penalty box, but his shot lacked the necessary power and was safely gathered by the goalkeeper.

In the 66th minute, Kwoon Chung Southern once again looked threatening, with Lai Kak Yi delivering a cross from the right which found Tomas Maronesi, but his header sailed over the bar.

In an unfortunate turn of events for Kwoon Chung Southern, they conceded another goal just before the final whistle. Tomas Maronesi's misplaced pass in the midfield was pounced upon by Wellingsson De Souza, who embarked on a 70-yard solo run, calmly slotting the ball past the onrushing goalkeeper to seal the win.

Finally, Sham Shui Po FC secured a well-deserved 2:0 victory over Kwoon Chung Southern, successfully bagging all three points.
