Hong Kong U-15 Representative Team took on Singapore U-15 National Team in Singapore on Tuesday evening for an electrifying AFC U16 Championship 2020 Qualifiers Group I fixture. Hong Kong U-15 conceded the first goal of the game but showed tremendous heart, dug deep and overcame the host through a sensational 1:2 victory.

Hong Kong U-15 conceded the first goal of the game but showed tremendous heart, dug deep and overcame the host through a sensational 1:2 victory.
Hong Kong got off to a rough start and fell behind early in the game. On the 9th minute, Hong Kong U-15 goalkeeper Pong Cheuk-hei fumbled the ball, allowing Khairin Nadim to fire it home, putting the home side in front.
Khairin Nadim continued to threaten the Hong Kong goal and came up with successive chances near the 15th minute-mark. Fortunately for Hong Kong, Khairin Nadim’s first shot was nicely handled by Hong Kong goalkeeper Pong Cheuk-hei, while his second shot went off target moments later.
Hong Kong gradually found its footing and started to come back. On the 28th minute, Ho Lung-ho sprung Lee Tsz-hin loose with a fine pass. Lee darted into the box and fired away but shot the bal.
Moments later, Ho Lung-ho unleashed a cracking shot from just outside the Singapore penalty area, forcing out a superb save from Singapore goalkeeper Veer Karan.
Hong Kong tied the game on the 35th minute, as Ho Lung-ho’s lovely forward pass found teammate Lee Tsz-hin. The latter unleashed a quick shot and found the back of the net, tying the game at 1:1 for Hong Kong.
The visitors continued to up the pressure late in the first-half. On the 41st minute, Sohgo Ichikawa connected with a teammate’s pass, dashed into the box and sent a cheeky flick-shot towards goal, only to witness his effort going over the crossbar.
Before the end of the first-half, Sohgo Ichikawa pulled the trigger from inside the box but was denied by Singapore goalkeeper Veer Karan.
On the 54th minute, Singapore had a half-decent chance to get in front once again. Dylan Choo fought off pressure on the left wing and fired a low drive that took a deflection off a Hong Kong player before being smothered by goalkeeper Pong Cheuk-hei.
Hong Kong nearly went in front on the 61st minute, when Cheung Shun-kit showed off blazing speed down the right wing, motored into the box and fired away, only to see Singapore goalkeeper Veer Karan rushing off the goal-line and charging the shot away.
The visitors had another chance on the 83rd minute. This time, Chan Pak-to delivered a decent cross towards the middle. Cheung Shun-kit one-timed the ball and blasted away, only to hit a Singapore player and went out of play.
In Injury time, a Hong Kong player was fouled inside the Singapore penalty area. The referee quickly awarded Hong Kong with a penalty. Lee Lok-hin assumed the spot-kick duty and fired the ball home, making it 1:2 for the visitors.
Both sides failed to add to the score in the remaining regulation time, as Hong Kong U-15 Representative Team recorded a spirited victory over Singapore U-15 Nation Team by 1:2.
