Eastern played against HKFC at Mong Kok Stadium on wednesday night for the BOC Life Hong Kong Premier League fixture of the day. Eastern defeated HKFC by 5:0.
Eastern hit the ground running, initiating an aggressive offense from the get-go. In the 6th minute, Gao Ming Ho masterfully executed a splendid long pass from the left flank, paving the way for Baffoe Noah to seize a one-on-one opportunity. Baffoe Noah managed to deftly control the ball, but his right-footed strike narrowly missed the target.
Eastern continued to dominate the game and mount pressure on the opponents. A potential scoring chance emerged when Gao Ming Ho and Yu Yang Bosley combined brilliantly, setting up Calum Hall on the right. However, Hall's strike from a tight angle inside the box was thwarted by the vigilant goalkeeper.
At the 21st minute, Eastern maintained their momentum with Daniel Vera attempting a long-range shot near the penalty area, which was again repelled by the resilient goalkeeper.
The deadlock was finally broken in the 35th minute when the young and energetic Gao Ming Ho whipped in a cross from the left, setting up the unmarked Baffoe Noah who nodded the ball home, putting Eastern ahead with 1:0.
Before the half-time whistle, Hong Kong Football Club staged a threatening attack. Gustao Henrique, receiving a pass from a teammate, cut inside and took a left-footed shot which was initially blocked by the goalkeeper, who then quickly recovered to secure the ball. Eastern managed to maintain their 1:0 lead into the break.
In the second half, Eastern continued to dictate the play. In the 51st minute, they doubled their lead when Calum Hall delivered a pass into the box from the right, finding the unmarked Wong Ho Chun who effortlessly headed the ball into the net, taking the score to 2:0.
Despite the lead, Eastern relentlessly kept up their offensive onslaught. They were denied by the goalkeeper when Yu Yang Bosley received Baffoe Noah's cross from the left. Wong Ho Chun also had a chance when he advanced into the box from the left, but his shot failed to find the target.
The 64th minute saw Eastern extend their lead to 3:0, thanks to a brilliant solo effort by Wong Ho Chun. He skilfully evaded defenders, penetrated the penalty area, and calmly slotted the ball home with his left foot.
In the 78th minute, Calum Hall, after receiving a pass from Ma Hei Wai, unleashed a powerful left-footed shot from the edge of the box, but it went wide.
As the match neared its conclusion, Eastern added two more goals from the penalty spot. Manuel Rodriguez was fouled inside the box by Felix Perez-Doyle, and the referee awarded a penalty. Baffoe Noah took the penalty, which was initially saved by the goalkeeper, but he followed up to score on the rebound, extending Eastern's lead to 4:0.
During stoppage time, Kwok Shung Ngai Enson was fouled by Lau Hok Ming inside the box, leading to another penalty for Eastern. Baffoe Noah stepped up and drilled a left-footed shot into the net, completing his hat-trick.
Finally, Eastern emerged victorious, trouncing Hong Kong Football Club 5:0 and securing all three points.
