Three minutes into the match, United Citizen created the first chance. Their Kwan Wing Yu dribbled past three defenders and shot from inside the penalty area, but the shot was straight at the goalkeeper, who saved it comfortably. ShaTin then regained much of the attacking momentum. In the 12th minute, their Wai Yuen Ting took a long-range shot that lacked power and did not trouble the goalkeeper. Eight minutes later, ShaTin's Wai Yuen Ting drove into the box and crossed, but Wong So Han's side-footed shot missed the target. Neither team created many further chances until the 29th minute, when United Citizen's Li Hau Yi intercepted the ball outside the opponent's penalty area, advanced, and shot, but the goalkeeper caught it easily. The first half ended 0–0 between United Citizen and ShaTin.

In the second half, United Citizen attacked first. Their Chong Ching Lam Jaylynn had a near one-on-one chance inside the box and shot, but the goalkeeper dived to save it. In the 51st minute, ShaTin's Chan Wing Sze shot from the edge of the penalty area, but the goalkeeper held it comfortably. United Citizen gradually took control of the match. In the 66th minute, an opponent mishandled the ball outside the box; United Citizen's Lau Yun Yi received a through ball from Li Hau Yi and went one-on-one, slotting into the far corner to make it 1–0.United Citizen's attacks came in waves. In the 75th minute, their Wei Lan drove into the box and crossed, and ShaTin's Leung Hing Man inadvertently turned the ball into his own net for an own goal, extending United Citizen's lead to 2–0. However, ShaTin did not give up. In the 90th minute, their Chu Sin Kwan scored a wonder goal from outside the penalty area, sending the ball into the top right corner to pull one back for ShaTin, making it 1–2.

In the end, United Citizen defeated ShaTin 2–1. Sha Tin finished the season with 26 points, winning the third-place title in this season's Jockey Club Women's Football League (1st Division)
