In a thrilling encounter at Hoi Sham Park on Thursday (June 12), Kwai Tsing settled for a 1:1 stalemate against a resilient Central Kwai Chung Football Club in the Jockey Club Futsal League (Division 3), securing enough points to clinch the runners-up spot in this season's campaign.

The match burst into life immediately as Kwai Tsing's Chan Chi Kin unleashed a venomous strike from a promising position in the opening minute, only to be denied by a spectacular save from custodian Tai Ming Hoi. He threatened again at the five-minute mark, cutting in from the left flank, but found the opposing shot-stopper in imperious form.

The attacking onslaught continued as Kwai Tsing carved out chance after chance. In the sixth minute, Chow Hau Ming latched onto a precise long-range distribution from keeper Koo Chun Wai, but his effort was thwarted in the one-on-one situation. Moments later, Lam Ka Ming's well-struck free-kick from the left channel tested the goalkeeper's reflexes once more.

The deadlock was finally broken on 16 minutes when Kwai Tsing’s Lam Ka Ming capitalized on some slack marking to convert Li Chak Yiu's pinpoint corner delivery, making it 1:0.

As the first half drew to a close, Chan Chi Kin came agonizingly close to doubling the advantage, but his acute-angled attempt was brilliantly tipped away by the outstanding Tai Ming Hoi, maintaining the single-goal margin at the interval.

After the restart, Kwai Tsing nearly extended their lead when Mok Ka Chun's intelligent through ball found Xiang Cheuk Ching unmarked, but his powerful drive was heroically cleared off the line by an alert defender.

The momentum began to shift as Central Kwai Chung Football Club showed more attacking intent, with both Wu King Yu and Law Siu Wing testing their luck from distance, though neither could find the target.

Kwai Tsing were made to rue their missed opportunities, particularly when Li Chak Yiu blazed over from close range after Ko Pak Hei Linus's precise delivery from the right wing.

As the clock ticked down, Central Kwai Chung Football Club mounted increasing pressure in search of an equalizer. A golden opportunity went begging in the 35th minute when Leung Lok Wai couldn't quite connect with Mak Ho Lun's inviting cross from the left flank.

However, their persistence was rewarded in the dying moments when Leung Lok Wai showcased excellent wing play to beat his marker and deliver a precise cross for Law Siu Wing, who made no mistake with a clinical finish from close range.

The dramatic late equalizer meant Kwai Tsing had to settle for second place in this season's Jockey Club Futsal League (Division 3), despite their dominant display throughout much of the encounter.
