The match kicked off with Resources Capital showing early aggression. Lam Lok Yin Jerry took a daring long-range shot from outside the box, but sadly he couldn't find the back of the net.
Tai Po quickly regrouped and took charge of the game. In the 18th minute, Lucas Da Silva unleashed a powerful strike after receiving a pass from Guilherme Bitencourt. The ball found the net but the referee ruled out the goal for an offside, a major blow for Tai Po. Lucas Da Silva, undeterred, got another chance but his attempt from a tight angle narrowly missed the target.
Tai Po made the most of set pieces, creating several chances. Guilherme Bitencourt's left-wing free-kick found Marcos Santos in the crowded penalty area, but his header sailed just wide.
In the 38th minute, Resources Capital returned fire. Ho Sze Chit's header from a free kick was skillfully parried away by the goalkeeper.
Tai Po's Guilherme Bitencourt orchestrated another threatening move with a corner kick from the left, but Gerson Vieira's header near the goalpost was bravely defended by the goalkeeper.
Before the halftime whistle, Tai Po finally broke the deadlock. Lee Ka Ho fired a thunderous right-footer after cutting from the right flank, the ball zooming into the far corner of the net, giving Tai Po a 1:0 lead at the break.
After the interval, Tai Po maintained their dominance. In the 47th minute, Chan Siu Kwan Philip's narrow-angle effort just skimmed past the post after a fine pass from Lucas Da Silva, and Gabriel Roberto's header also couldn't find the target in the 56th minute.
Resources Capital turned the tables in the 66th minute after Tai Po failed to extend their lead. Gabriel Roberto was penalized for a handball in the box, and Resources Capital was awarded a penalty. Although Ho Sz Chit's penalty was saved, Ki Sze ho made no mistake with the rebound, leveling the score at 1:1.
Stung by the equalizer, Tai Po upped their attack. Lucas Da Silva's exquisite pass in the 74th minute put Chan Siu Kwan Philip through on goal, but his shot was bravely blocked by the keeper.
Tai Po relentlessly continued their aerial onslaught, but Resources Capital' resolute defense denied them any clear chances.
At the final whistle, the scoreline read 1:1, with both Tai Po and Resources Capital sharing the spoils.
