Kitchee U14 met up with Eastern U14 at the Jockey Club Kitchee Centre on Sunday (30 April 2023) for the Hong Kong Premier Youth League U14 (Championship Group) fixture. Both sides generated several scoring chances in the game but somehow failed to score the match-winner. At the final whistle, Kitchee U14 ad Eastern U14 were forced to shake hands on a 0:0 draw.

Eastern U14 went knocked on Kitchee U14’s door after the opening whistle with Kwan Cheuk Yin long-range attempt going into goalkeeper’s arms. Kitchee U14 gained control of the game in possession afterwards, but it was not easy for them to generate scoring chance in front of Easter U14's solid defensing the 8th minute, a sloppy pass from an Eastern U14 defender allowed Ma Lok Sephrey to unload a long drive outside the box, only to be saved by the goalkeeper. It was Kitchee U14’s again on the 17th minute, Eastern U14 failed to clear Kitchee U14’s corner delivery out of the box, Lee Sing Chit reacted to the loose ball first, but his shot was blocked by defender.

Eastern U14 gradually settled down and started to look for the first goal. On the 30th minute, a lovely pass sent Sasaki Yu into the box, and he fired a tight angle shot, only to see his effort was blocked by defender. Eastern U14 came again five minutes later, Chan Chun Yu connected with Fung Kin Cheung’s cross from the right flank, but his header was punched away by the goalkeeper. The first half eventually wrapped up with both teams locked in a goalless draw.

Eastern U14 tried to break the deadlock after the second half whistle. On the 42nd minute, a centering-pass from Yau Pak Laam found Chan Chun Yu inside the box, but the latter headed the ball wide. Kitchee U14 regained control of the game but their efforts failed to find the target. Tung Ki Lok Eden fired his long-range shot wide on the 49th minute and Pang Hing Lun’s shot afterwards missed the target too. Late in the second half, Chan Yin Lok connected with Fong Chun Kit’s corner delivery, but he headed the ball wide again.

The score stood towards the final whistle, as Eastern U14 and Kitchee U14 shook hands on a 0:0 draw.
