The Football Association of Hong Kong, China (HKFA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. John MORLING as Technical Director, commencing his duties since 18 March.

Mr. Morling brings extensive experience and qualifications to his new role, including a UEFA PRO LICENCE and a wealth of experience in football management and coaching. His background includes serving as the Head of Community Programme at Peterborough United Football Club as well as coaching at all ages from 9s to first team over a 12-year period. He then joined the Football Association of Ireland as Player Development Manager to set up the national strategy for the development of players. He also was the International Manager for the U15, U16 & U17 national teams. Most notably, he has served as the Academy Manager at Brighton and Hove Albion FC in the UK for 10 years where he successfully led the academy to flourish and nurtured talents that significantly contributed to the first team. In seasons 2020-21 & 2021-022 Brighton had the most minutes in the Premier League from academy players.

With a proven track record in player development and football management, Mr. Morling’s expertise will be invaluable to our Association as we continue to elevate football standards in Hong Kong. We are confident that his contributions will further strengthen our programmes and initiatives. Welcome Mr. Morling to the HKFA family!
