Eastern District secured all three points to clinch the league title, while Sham Shui Po finished the season as runners-up.

Eastern District secured all three points to clinch the league title, while Sham Shui Po finished the season as runners-up.

Both sides started brightly, with Sham Shui Po’s Chan Sin Hung testing the goalkeeper from a tight angle and Eastern District responding through Ng Chak Wai’s long-range free kick. Eastern District came closest to breaking the deadlock in the 21st minute when Lam Yan Tung raced onto a perfectly weighted through ball from Tam Lai Yin, but the one-on-one effort came back off the post.

Sham Shui Po capitalised in the 26th minute to open the scoring. Chan Christine Lauren’s strike inside the area was pushed away by goalkeeper Ngai Po Yuk, and Ho Tsz Ting reacted first to turn in the rebound for 1:0. Eastern District hit back 10 minutes later when Lam Yan Tung drove into the box and was brought down by Lee Chin Ching . The referee pointed to the spot and Ng Chak Wai converted calmly to level at 1:1. However, Sham Shui Po restored their lead before the interval. In the 39th minute, Yu Tsz Ting broke down the right and delivered a cross; Ho Tsz Ting’s close-range attempt was saved, but s19 arrived to finish the follow-up and send Sham Shui Po into half-time 2:1 ahead.

After the restart, Eastern District stepped up the pressure and drew level again in the 49th minute as Ng Chak Wai struck a direct free kick into the net to make it 2:2. Sham Shui Po had opportunities to regain control, but Chan Sin Hung’s close-range effort and Ho Hau Yau Shita’s attempt from a corner both missed the target.

Eastern District gradually took command and turned the match around in the 69th minute when Wong Kit Wah met a left-wing cross at close range to make it 3:2. With momentum firmly on their side, Eastern District continued to press and extended the lead in the 77th minute, as Chan Tsz Ching embarked on a solo run from deep, beat three defenders and finished coolly one-on-one for 4:2. The result was sealed in the 82nd minute when Wong Wai Yee powered in a header from a right-side corner, completing a 5:2 win and confirming Eastern District as Jockey Club Women’s Football League (3rd Division) champions.
