In a thrilling encounter at Hoi Sham Park on Thursday (June 12), ERSA emerged victorious with a commanding 6:3 triumph over Tsuen Wan in the Jockey Club Futsal League (Division 3) clash, claiming all three points.
The match burst into life immediately as the ERSA outfit demonstrated their attacking prowess. The deadlock was broken within sixty seconds when Lai Tai Shing unleashed a devastating strike from an acute angle on the right flank. The early pressure paid dividends as Leung Wai Tong doubled the advantage with an exquisite chip over the advancing Szeto Tsz Man, putting Eastern two goals to the good inside four minutes.
The Tsuen Wan resistance sparked into action with a swift double riposte. First, Leung Wan Kit displayed predatory instincts by pouncing on a rebound after e99's initial save. Moments later, Mo Cheuk Lam produced a moment of brilliance, spotting e99 off his line and executing a sublime strike from the halfway circle to restore parity.
The end-to-end action continued as Lai Tai Shing restored ERSA's advantage with a thunderbolt from the edge of the area that crashed in off the woodwork. However, Tsuen Wan's persistence was rewarded when a defensive blunder from e99 saw his clearance cannon off Young Ming Wai and into the net for 3:3.
ERSA's quality began to shine through as e14 completed a magnificent hat-trick with a clinical long-range effort, converting Yeung Man Hei Vincent's precise assist. Before the interval, Chung Kin Man nearly extended the lead, but Szeto Tsz Man produced an acrobatic save to tip the goal-bound effort over.
The first period concluded with Eastern holding a slender 4:3 advantage.
After the restart, Tsuen Wan came agonizingly close to equalizing. Ng Ki Hang squandered a golden opportunity when clean through, before Chan Tsun Hei's quick-fire attempts were magnificently thwarted by some inspired goalkeeping.
ERSA's clinical counterattacking prowess was displayed when e53 broke free and exhibited nerves of steel to slot home their fifth. The final goal came through e9, who cut in from the left flank before unleashing an unstoppable right-footed drive to make it 6:3.
In the dying moments, Chung Kin Man was denied by the framework as his effort from a tight angle rattled the upright.
The final whistle confirmed ERSA's impressive victory with a scoreline 6:3, securing maximum points in this goal-laden encounter.
