In an exciting Jockey Club Futsal League (FA Cup Second Round) semi-final match held at Sha Tin Racecourse S/G on Monday (May 12), Kuitan triumphed over 3 Sing with a commanding 5:2 victory, securing their place in the final.
Kuitan dominated possession from the start. In the 2nd minute, Tam Chi Chung took a powerful shot from the right, which was saved by goalkeeper Wong Tsz Ho. Two minutes later, Kuitan had another opportunity when Chu Wing Chung shot during a scramble, hitting the crossbar. A minute later, Ralph Ambrad Cuenca’s close-range effort from the right was also saved by Wong Tsz Ho.
In the 5th minute, 3 Sing launched a counterattack. Goalkeeper Wong Tsz Ho ventured out and attempted a shot after crossing the halfway line, but missed the target.
In the 8th minute, Kuitan executed a 3-on-1 counter, with Yeung Chi Lun reaching the byline on the left and passing to Ralph Ambrad Cuenca, who calmly slotted the ball in, giving Kuitan a 1:0 lead.
Kuitan continued to attack, and in the 13th minute, Choi Chi Chung’s powerful shot from a tight angle was deflected into the net by goalkeeper Wong Tsz Ho, extending the lead to 2:0. Choi Chi Chung had another chance in the 14th minute, dribbling past the goalkeeper on the right but narrowly missing the far post.
Before halftime, 3 Sing's Rishi Hang Samsohang had a shot from the right that failed to hit the target. Kuitan lead 2:0 at the break.
In the 23rd minute, Kuitan increased their advantage when Chu Wing Chung scored into an open net after the goalkeeper came out to challenge, making it 3:0. Just two minutes later, Ralph Ambrad Cuenca capitalized on a pass from a teammate, scoring from close range to extend the lead to 4:0.
3 Sing finally found the net in the 32nd minute when Rishi Hang Samsohang scored into an empty goal after Kuitan's goalkeeper Sin Cheung Ching came out to challenge, closing the gap to 1:4. 3 Sing struck again in the 34th minute, with Limbu Dennish scoring from the right, bringing the score to 2:4.
Before the final whistle, Kuitan added another goal; Chan Adriel Demian delivered a long pass to Choi Chi Chung, who dribbled past the goalkeeper and scored, sealing the match at 5:2.
Kuitan's Choi Chi Chung commented on the team's performance: "We played well today. The opponent was strong and pressed us effectively, making it tough in the first half. In the second half, we adjusted our rhythm and followed the coach's instructions, achieving the desired results. In the final against Eastern District, our goal is to win the championship: 'We will give our best. Eastern is a strong team, and we need to improve our teamwork and fitness before the final.'
