In a thrilling Division 2 encounter of the Jockey Club Futsal League at Hoi Sham Park #1 on Thursday (May 8), Fu Yat emerged victorious with a hard-fought 2:1 triumph over Central & Western to claim all three points.

The match burst into life early as Fu Yat demonstrated their attacking prowess, breaking the deadlock in the 4th minute. Chan Tin Long showcased his dribbling skills on the right flank before delivering a pinpoint cross, which was clinically converted by Wee Pak Hei at the far stick, making it 1:0.

The lead was short-lived, however, as Central & Western orchestrated a swift response. Five minutes after conceding, Chan Pak Hang expertly latched onto c8's well-executed free-kick delivery, dispatching a clinical right-footed strike from the edge of the area to restore parity.

Fu Yat began to assert their dominance, with Pang Hong Kin displaying sublime footwork to create space at the periphery of the box in the 12th minute, only to see his effort charged down. Moments later, he rose highest to meet a corner from the right, but his powerful header whistled agonizingly wide of the upright.

The attacking tempo continued as Fung Long To unleashed a thunderous left-footed drive from a corner that rattled the woodwork on the quarter-hour mark. He threatened again three minutes later, but his acute-angled attempt was expertly parried by the alert Chung Chun Wa between the sticks.

Central & Western squandered a golden opportunity before the interval when Law Hoi Kin, completely unmarked, failed to hit the target after being picked out by Chan Pak Hang's precise pass.

As the referee's whistle signaled the end of the first half, the sides remained deadlocked at one apiece.

Fu Yat came out firing after the restart and were immediately rewarded.  f13 displayed excellent pressing to dispossess the opposition before launching a solo raid, and although his initial effort was repelled, he showed tremendous composure to slot home the rebound, giving Fu Yat a 2:1 advantage.

Fu Yat could have extended their lead moments later when Chan Tin Long found himself clean through on goal, but the advancing shot-stopper produced a crucial intervention to maintain the one-goal deficit.

Desperate to salvage something from the contest, Central & Western mounted increasing pressure, though c8's set-piece from the left flank sailed harmlessly over the crossbar with 16 minutes on the clock.

At the other end, Wee Pak Hei connected with Chan Tin Long's through ball but couldn't find the target from a difficult angle as Fu Yat sought to kill off the contest.

The dying moments produced high drama as Central & Western came within inches of securing a point. Chan Pak Hang collected a booming clearance from Chung Chun Wa and unleashed a venomous strike from range, only to be denied by a spectacular flying save from Cheung Yan Wing.

In the end, Fu Yat's resolute defending saw them over the line, securing a crucial 2:1 victory and claiming all three points in this pulsating encounter.
