In a thrilling FA Cup (Junior Division) quarter-final double-header at Po Kong Village Road Park on 13th April 2025, Sham Shui Po secured their spots in the semi-finals with impressive victories over RCFC
Despite RCFC controlling the early exchanges, with Ho Tsz Him rattling the woodwork, it was Sham Shui Po who demonstrated clinical finishing. The counter-attacking specialists threatened through Maysan Blaha Benarbia's header that struck the crossbar and Chan Yiu Yin's close-range effort. Their persistence paid dividends before the interval when Chan Cheuk Kwong nodded home a pinpoint cross, followed by a sublime effort from Maysan Blaha Benarbia who cut inside to rifle home at the near post. The second half saw RCFC lay siege to Sham Shui Po's goal, but the resolute defence held firm before Maysan Blaha Benarbia sealed the triumph from the penalty spot after Chan Yiu Yin was fouled in the area, completing a comprehensive 3:0 victory.
Post-match, Sham Shui Po player Yim Kai Wa praised his side's tactical discipline: “The gameplan was executed perfectly today. Our preparation was spot-on, and the team showed tremendous unity and concentration throughout, particularly in our defensive organization." Looking ahead to the semi-final encounter with Best Union Yuen Long, Yim Kai Wa remained cautiously optimistic: "We'll analyze their matches thoroughly and look to exploit set-piece situations. Given our Premier League FA Cup final appearance last season, while we might not be favorites, we're targeting nothing less than a place in the final."
