In a dominant display at the Jockey Club Women's Football League (3rd Division) clash at Happy Valley Recreation Ground #1 on Saturday (November 30), Guardian hammered Lucky Mile 11:0 to claim all three points.
Guardian wasted no time asserting their authority, breaking the deadlock after just 3 minutes when LEUNG HANG YI nodded home from a right-wing corner. The lead was doubled moments later as CHAN WING YAN pounced on the rebound after VALENTINO PERLE EUZABETH parried CHAN WING IN's fierce drive. Guardian’s relentless pressure paid dividends with a quickfire double. LEUNG HANG YI tapped in CHAN WING IN's inch-perfect cross on 17 minutes, before CHAN WING YAN clinically finished from an acute angle two minutes later to make it 4:0.
Despite VALENTINO PERLE EUZABETH producing fine saves to deny WONG TSZ CHING and LAM CHO SHONG, the latter made no mistake from the penalty spot on the half-hour mark to extend the advantage. CHAN WING IN capitalized on a defensive blunder in the 32nd minute, surging into the box to rifle home with his left foot, making it 7:0. The rout continued before the interval with three more strikes. CHAN WING IN converted LEUNG HANG YI's delivery, LEUNG HANG YI raced clear to slot home, and CHOW KA YIU added a delightful chip to complete a devastating first-half performance, leading 9:0.
After the restart, Lucky Mile showed more resilience, but fortune favored them when CHOW KA YIU's free-kick crashed against the woodwork and LEUNG HANG YI's follow-up header was brilliantly saved. CHAN WING YAN was also denied by the frame of the goal from a right-wing cross. The floodgates reopened in the 77th minute as LEUNG HANG YI pounced on G5's deflected effort to reach double figures. WONG TSZ CHING put the final nail in the coffin moments later with a sublime strike from the edge of the area into the bottom corner.
The comprehensive victory saw Guardian collect all three points in emphatic fashion, defeating Lucky Mile by 11:0.
