The opening exchanges saw both sides battling for midfield supremacy, with clear-cut chances at a premium. The deadlock was nearly broken in the 14th minute when CHUNG PUI KI's pinpoint corner found FU CHIU MAN, whose powerful header rattled the crossbar. CHEUNG WAI KI threatened for Kitchee on 21 minutes, firing wide from the left flank. At the other end, TSANG LAI MAE HALASAN carved through the middle but dragged her effort just past the post.
The breakthrough came on 27 minutes when LAU KA HEY was brought down in the box after a defense-splitting pass. TSANG LAI MAE HALASAN stepped up and made no mistake from the spot, putting TSL FC ahead. Kitchee restored parity in the 35th minute through CHAM CHING MAN, who showed great composure to slot home the rebound after her initial effort was parried by the goalkeeper NG YUEN KI. The sides went into the break all square at 1:1.
The second half saw Kitchee seize control when CHEUNG WAI KI displayed brilliant individual skill, dispossessing an opponent before unleashing an unstoppable strike into the top corner on 47 minutes. TSL FC pushed for an equalizer, with CHAN WING LAM's set-piece narrowly missing the target. SO HOI LAM put the game beyond doubt in the 65th minute, latching onto an incisive through ball before showing excellent composure to round the keeper and slot home.
Despite a late opportunity for CHEUNG WAI KI, who blazed over when clean through, Kitchee saw out the match professionally to secure maximum points with a 3:1 triumph.
