Kitchee started brightly, with Ngan Cheuk Pan's defense-splitting pass almost setting Poon Pui Hin through on goal, but the keeper was quick off his line to snuff out the danger.
The deadlock was broken on 13 minutes when Walter Junior pinpoint delivery found Ruslan Mingazov at the back post, who cushioned a header for Fiel Welthon to nod home from close range.
Kitchee doubled their advantage six minutes later through a moment of brilliance from Rey Aaron, who collected Lam Lok Kan Jordan's pass before curling a sublime effort into the top corner.
The floodgates opened on 28 minutes as Walter Junior’s incisive through ball released Poon Pui Hin, who made no mistake with a clinical finish from an acute angle.
Kitchee made it four just two minutes later. After the keeper parried Ruslan Mingazov’s initial effort from Poon Pui Hin’s cross, the striker was quickest to react and tucked the rebound home.
Kitchee's masterclass continued in the 35th minute when Walter Junior capped off a slick one-two with Poon Pui Hin by rifling home their fifth.
Kowloon City nearly pulled one back from Lam Hok HEI’s corner, but Kayron Ramos’s powerful header was expertly tipped over by the keeper.
The first half ended on a sour note for Kitchee as Ruslan Mingazov saw red for a rash challenge on Ho Lung Ho, reducing them to ten men.
Despite their numerical disadvantage after the break, Kitchee threatened again when Poon Pui Hin met Walter Junior’s cross, but his effort was comfortably gathered.
Kowloon City tried to capitalize on their extra man, with Tsang Kam To's cross finding Yuen Sai Kit, whose knockdown was met by Lam Hok Hei, forcing a spectacular save from the keeper.
Kowloon City continued to probe, and in the 82nd minute, Kayron Ramos cut inside menacingly before unleashing a fierce drive that the keeper did well to parry.
In the dying moments, Poon Pui Hin almost added further gloss to the scoreline after a neat exchange with Fernando Augusto, but the keeper stood firm.
The final whistle confirmed Kitchee's comprehensive victory, as they claimed all three points in a 5:0 victory.
