Eastern defeated HKFC by 4:0 in JC Sapling Cup (Group A) fixture in Tsing Yi Sports Ground today.

On Saturday (November 16th), in the JC Sapling Cup (Group A) clash at Tsing Yi Sports Ground, Eastern clinched a convincing 4:0 victory over HKFC, bagging all three points.

HKFC threatened early on, with Chen Hao’s through ball setting up Daniel Scally for a one-on-one in the 6th minute, but the keeper stood firm to deny the striker.

Eastern weathered the storm and drew first blood moments later. Victor Bertomeu latched onto a sublime through ball from Wong Ho Chun, coolly slotting past the keeper to make it 1:0.

The lead was doubled in the 11th minute when Calum Hall unleashed a thunderbolt from outside the box, leaving the keeper rooted to the spot as it nestled in the top corner.

HKFC tried to respond, but Tsang Chun Hin’s tame effort from a poor clearance was easily gathered by the goalkeeper.

The hosts continued to dominate, with Ma Hei Wai forcing a spectacular save from the goalkeeper in the 34th minute. A minute later, Marcos Gondra threaded a pass to Wong Ho Chun, who beat his marker but fired high.

Eastern's relentless pressure paid off again in the 38th minute. Marcos Gondra was the provider once more, setting up Victor Bertomeu to rifle home from a tight angle, completing his brace and giving Eastern a commanding 3:0 lead at the break.

The second half saw Eastern maintain their grip on the game. Leung Kwun Chung's dangerous free-kick found Marcos Gondra, who nodded down for Victor Bertomeu, but the striker couldn't keep his shot on target. Later, Calum Hall’s goal-bound effort from Leung Kwun Chung's corner was heroically cleared off the line by Tsang Chun Hin.

Eastern's siege continued, with Mamadou Habib nearly turning Leung Kwun Chung’s corner into his own net, only for the woodwork to come to HKFC's rescue.

The floodgates opened again in the 72nd minute when Prabhat Gurung’s pinpoint cross found the unmarked Wong Ho Chun, who made no mistake with his header to extend Eastern's lead to 4:0.

HKFC had a late chance to salvage some pride, but Calum Beattie’s free-kick was well saved by the goalkeeper.

The final whistle confirmed Eastern's emphatic 4:0 triumph, securing a vital three points in their JC Sapling Cup campaign.
