Eastern dominated right from the kickoff. At the 14-minute mark, Leung Chun Pong delivered a precise pass into the penalty box from the left flank, but Baffoe Noah's immediate left-foot strike was heroically saved by the goalkeeper.
Eastern's onslaught continued into the 39th minute. Marcos Gondra, after outmaneuvering his marker on the left, delivered a cross into the penalty area. Wong Ho Chun, lurking at the far post, attempted a shot that was spectacularly saved by the goalkeeper, and Leung Chun Pong's rebound strike was also thwarted by the diligent defenders.

At the 65th minute, Eastern broadened their advantage. Ng Yu Hei, showcasing his pace on the left, outpaced his marker into the box, and his right-footed rocket found the far corner of the net, doubling Eastern's lead.
Eastern continued to press, creating several more opportunities. Baffoe Noah made a narrow-angled attempt on goal after darting into the box from the left, but the well-positioned goalkeeper denied him.
