In a thrilling encounter at Aberdeen Sports Ground, the Senior Shield match between Kwoon Chung Southern and HK U23 took place. Kwoon Chung Southern,trailing by one goal in the first half, staged an impressive comeback in the second half, netting five goals and securing a remarkable 5-1 victory over HK U23.
In the opening minutes of the match, Kwoon Chung Southern dominated possession and created several scoring chances.Dos Santos Kessi Isac played a pass to Ju Yingzhi who then delivered a precise through ball to Mahama Awal. Awal received the ball at the edge of the penalty area but he couldn’t generate enough ball for his shot and was saved by goalkeeper.
However, it was the HK U23 team who broke the deadlock, with Lee Lok him calmly finishing off a pass from Yim Kai Cheuk on the 18th minute, giving them a 1-0 lead.
Kwoon Chung Southern tried to find the equalizer and kept knocking on HK U23’s door,Lee Ka Yiu delivered a cross from the right flank, but Sasaki Shu’s acrobatic shot sailed over the crossbar.
The leading Hong Kong U23 team also had chances to double their lead.Lam Hok Hei stole the ball from Lee Ka Yiu in the attacking third,and then expertly threaded a pass to Li Lok-him who penetrated into the penalty area. On the 71st minute, Kwoon Chung Southern added another goal, with Stefan Pereira heading in a cross from the right by Lee Ka Yiu, extending their lead to 3-1. Towards the end of the match, it became a showcase for Mahama Awal as he first capitalized on Stefan Pereira’s header to unleash a powerful shot into the net. He then calmly received a through pass from his teammate, skillfully shook off his markers and slotted the ball home. In the end, Kwoon Chung Southern emerged victorious with a convincing 5:1 win over HK U23 in the Senior Shield match.
