Kwoon Chung Southern and Soar Football Club squared off in Po Tsui Park on Saturday evening for an all-important Jockey Club Women’s Football League Second Division fixture. A combination of Soar Football Club’s 3:0 victory over Kwoon Chung Southern, plus results from elsewhere, saw Soar Football Club triumphing in this season’s Jockey Club Women’s Football League Second Division.

Barely five minutes into the game Soar Football Club’s Wong Ching connected with a teammate’s delivery and belted the ball home, putting her side in front 1:0.

Later on Kwoon Chung Southern tried hard to equalize, yet shots from Lau Ting Chi were both charged away by opposing players.

Soar Football Club doubled its lead later in the first half, as Zhu Siting’s centering pass somehow eluded the Kwoon Chung Southern goalkeeper and sailed into the net. Soar Football Club led 2:0 all the way to the half time.

Kwoon Chung came close to getting on the scoreboard in the second half, as Wong Tsz Ying’s free-kick hit the crossbar and bounced out of play.

Soar Football Club made it 3:0 on the 67^th minute, as Wong Ching found herself on the receiving end of a teammate’s corner-kick delivery and nodded the ball home.

Late in the game, Kwoon Chung Southern was handed a great chance to break the goose-egg with a penalty-shot, yet Yau Ka Wai’s attempt was brilliantly saved by Soar Football Club goalkeeper Ng Jo Jo, sealing Kwoon Chung Southern’s fate on the evening.
