In the Jockey Club Youth Football League (U15 – League B) match played at Happy Valley Recreation Ground last Saturday (April 29, 2023), Hoi King defeated Eastern District through a commanding 3:0 victory and claimed all three points.

Both sides started the game rather slow, and Hoi King gradually took control of the game after settling down. On the 16th minute, Hoi King generated their first scoring chance when Yeung Tsz Hin cut in from the left before unloading a powerful shot from the edge of the box, only to be paved away by the goalkeeper. Four minutes later, Tsang Preston Godfrey collected the loose ball outside the box, but his long-range shot went over the bar. On the 19th minute, Lin Haoyue unloaded on a free kick from distance, only to see his effort was denied by the goalkeeper. But Hoi King didn’t wait too long to break the deadlock when Ko Yin Ngo committed a handball inside the box and Tsang Preston Godfrey made it 1:0 with his spot-kick.

Later, Eastern District tried to mount a comeback and almost tied the game on the 25th minute, but unfortunately, Hung Wah Yam's header from a corner-kick delivery bounced off the crossbar. Lam Chun Hei had a chance to score afterwards but his long-range shot failed to challenge the goalkeeper. The first half finished with Hoi King enjoying a 1:0 lead over Eastern District.

Hoi King stormed out in the second half and kept pressuring Eastern District. On the 38th minute, Lui Wai Hin connected with a lovely centering pass from Sun Ho Ting, but his short-range shot missed the target. Two minutes later, Tsang Preston Godfrey tried his luck from the left, only to smash it high.

Eastern District produced a rare chance on the 53rd minute but Wong Lai Shun’s long drive was just missed the target. On the 63rd minute, Hoi King made it 3:0 on the scoreboard. A free-kick delivery from Hoi King forced Ip Zi Hei to head into his own net. Both teams fail to add to the score afterwards, as Hoi King finally beat Eastern District through a comfortable 3:0 victory and claimed all three points.
