Central & Western had the upper hand after the opening whistle and generate the first scoring chance on the 7th minute. Fung Clayton picked up a pass from teammate inside the box and pulled the trigger, only to see his effort was paved away by the goalkeeper. Four minutes later, it was Central & Western again with the unmarked Yip Tin Ching taking a cross from the left and firing his shot wide. On the 24th minute, Yip Tin Ching connected with a long pass from teammate and unloaded from distance, only to see his effort was denied by the crossbar.

Kowloon City gradually settled down afterwards and broke the game open on the 28th minute. A sweet pass by teammate released Chan Shing Fun on the right side on the box, he unloaded a low drive into the bottom left corner and found the back of net. Kowloon City was up 1:0. Just one minute later, Li Zhuoxi took advantage of a mistake by a defender and fired home to make it 2:0, giving Kowloon City a two-goal lead to finish the half.

Kowloon City came out strong in the second half and scored another goal on the 39th minute, Law Long Ting produced a magical solo run in the middle and fired the ball home with a tight angle shot, making it 3:0. Trailing by three goals, Central & Western seemed to be awaken and finally pulled one back. Chan Pak Kiu connected with a well-placed corner and smashed the ball home at the near post. It was still Central & Western on the 46 minutes, a defensive error from Kowloon City saw the ball falling for Yip Tin Ching, his effort was blocked by the goalkeeper at first time but he was lucky enough to get the loose ball and rebound it home, making it 2:3.

It was Kowloon City’s turn on the 60th minute. Ho Ching Him shook off his marker and curled the ball into the top right corner, giving Kowloon a 4:2.

Central & Western didn’t throw up the white towel and answered back by an own goal from Chan Ching Fun to make it 3:4. However, the score managed to stand all the way towards the final whistle, as Kowloon City defeated Central & Western through a 4:3 victory.
