Kitchee hosted Sham Shui Po in Mongkok Stadium on Sunday afternoon for the final BOC Life Hong Kong Premier League fixture of the busy football weekend. Kitchee was in tip-top form on the day and shutout the visiting Sham Shui Po through a convincing 7:0 victory.

Kitchee fired some early warning signals to Sham Shui Po, as shots from Ruslan Mingazov and Dejan Damjanovic both failed to beat Sham Shui Po goalkeeper Oleksii Shiliakotin.
However, Kitchee was not to be denied and broke the game open on the 6th minute. Ngan Cheuk-pan showed off some great wheels down the right wing and delivered a sweet pass towards the middle. Dejan Damjanovic pulled the trigger on a one-timer and sent the ball into the back of the Sham Shui Po net.
Moments later, Kitchee hit Sham Shui Po with another goal. This time, a series of sweet passes saw Mikael Severo delivering a low cross into the Sham Shui Po box. Once again, Dejan Damjanovic was in perfect position and buried the opportunity. Kitchee was now leading 2:0.
On the 13th minute, Kitchee was at it once again. Igor Sartori found himself on the receiving end of a teammate’s forward pass, then fired a quick shot but was charged away by Sham Shui Po goalkeeper Oleksii Shiliakotin. Ruslan Mingazov was quick to the rebound and drilled the ball into the Sham Shui Po net. Kitchee was pulling away with a 3:0 lead.
Sham Shui Po produced a rare scoring chance on the 17th minute. Lo Kong-wai danced his way into the Kitchee box on the left side and let rip, only to witness his strike first hitting a Sham Shui Po player, then splendidly tipped over the crossbar by Paulo Da Silva in goal.
Afterwards, Kitchee resumed the onslaught. On the 23rd minute, Igor Sartori was brought down by a Sham Shui Po player in the opposing box. The referee awarded Kitchee with a penalty shot. Sartori dusted himself up, assumed the spot-kick duty and found the back of the net with his cool finish. It was now 4:0 for Kitchee.
Late in the first half, Kitchee managed to add one more goal. Igor Sartori did some fine work down the right wing and knocked a great cross towards the middle. Mikael Severo soared into the air and nodded the ball home with ease. Kitchee was enjoying a comfortable 5:0 lead over Sham Shui Po at the interval.
Kitchee continued to enjoy the upper hand in the second half. On the 67th minute, Ruslan Mingazov connected with a teammate’s centering pass but saw his powerful leaping header kicked away by Sham Shui Po goalkeeper Oleksii Shiliakotin.
Shortly afterwards, Kitchee’s Cheng Chin-lung found himself on the receiving end of a teammate’s delivery and blasted a one-timer towards the Sham Shui Po net, only to be turned away by a stunning Oleksii Shiliakotin save.
Kitchee finally made it 6:0 on the 71st minute, as Fernando Pedreira’s cracking left footer from near the penalty spot, rocketed into the back of the Sham Shui Po net.
On the 79th minute, Kitchee made it 7:0 on the day, as Bekzhan Sagynbaev finished off Poon Pui-hin’s centering pass and smashed the ball home in style.
Late in the game, Sham Shui Po tried to break the goose egg, yet shots from Sim Woonsub and Lai Kak-yi both failed to hit the intended target.
At the end, Kitchee managed to earn a 7:0 shutout victory over Sham Shui Po in the premier league fixture.
