In an electrifying face-off for the Hong Kong Premier Youth League U14 FA Cup Final match on Saturday (June 8) was held at Pitch 5 of the Jockey Club HKFA Football Training Centre. Kitchee ultimately defeated BC Rangers 1-0 to claim the Hong Kong Premier Youth League U14 FA Cup championship.
In the opening stages, both teams sought scoring opportunities through free kicks. In the 2nd minute, Kitchee's free kick from Lee Shing Chun was off target. 6 minutes later, BC Rangers earned a free kick, but their attempt from Yu Li Feng also missed the target. Kitchee had another free kick chance in the 20th minute, this time taken by Ng Yat Long, but it hit the post and went wide.
For the remainder of the first half, Kitchee generally controlled the match, but neither Lam Ka Fung or Lam Yat Sen could find a way to break through the BC Rangers goalkeeper.
After the break, Kitchee continued to press forward. In the 45th minute, Ng Yat Long took a shot from near the center circle, which the BC Rangers goalkeeper comfortably saved. 1 minute later, Lee Shing Chun cut past a defender on the left and shot a low drive, but the goalkeeper made the stop.
In the second half, BC Rangers relied on attacking from the wings, and in the 63rd minute, their Corey Del Rosario Wong headed an attempt just over the goal after receiving a pass from a teammate.
Kitchee finally found the breakthrough in the 72nd minute. Lam Ka Fung received a pass inside the box and took a quick shot past the goalkeeper to give Kitchee a 1-0 lead. This lone goal allowed Kitchee to defeat BC Rangers 1-0 and claim the Hong Kong Premier Youth League U14 FA Cup championship.
