In the opening fixture of the Jockey Club Women's Futsal League, Kitchee put on a dominant display against On Fire at Tai Wai Soccer Pitch on Thursday evening (November 20th), running out comfortable 8:0 winners to secure maximum points.

Kitchee seized control from the first whistle, with KWONG Wing Yan proving a constant menace to the opposition defense with a flurry of attempts that failed to hit the target. The deadlock was finally broken in the 6th minute when the Kitchee talisman KWONG Wing Yan drove forward from midfield and thundered a strike from the edge of the area into the back of the net. Just 60 seconds later, Kitchee doubled their advantage as KWONG Wing Yan collected a throw-in and dispatched a clinical finish to make it 2:0. On Fire struggled to cope with Kitchee's superior pace and movement, as the dominant side controlled possession and carved out numerous chances. Both WONG Hiu Yau Hazel and YU Pui Yan tested their luck from distance but were unable to keep their efforts on target.

The 14th minute saw further misfortune for On Fire as a goalmouth scramble ended with FUNG Ting Yin's effort deflecting off the unfortunate PANG Joe Yee for an own goal, extending Kitchee's cushion to 3:0. Two minutes later, TANG Tsz Wan got in on the act, latching onto a through ball and slotting past the keeper from the edge of the penalty area to establish a commanding 4:0 half-time advantage.

The second period saw no let-up in Kitchee's intensity, with K65 continuing to test the opposition backline with a series of dangerous strikes. The 28th minute brought the fifth goal as CHENG Ching Kiu ghosted past her marker before coolly converting from close quarters to make it 5:0. On Fire showed fighting spirit in response, with PANG Joe Yee dispossessing an opponent in the middle of the park before trying her luck from distance, though the Kitchee goalkeeper was equal to the task. On Fire reorganized defensively through the middle stages, with goalkeeper CHIEN Sze Man producing several crucial interventions to keep the scoreline respectable. However, Kitchee's relentless pressure eventually told in the 35th minute when KWONG Wing Yan surged down the left channel before cutting onto her favoured foot and rifling home to stretch the lead to 6:0.

Despite trailing heavily in the dying embers, On Fire continued to battle gamely, but were powerless to prevent the onslaught. YU Pui Yan proved the final tormentor, netting a quickfire brace in a devastating three-minute spell as Kitchee put the gloss on an emphatic 8:0 victory, collecting all three points in style.
