In a thrilling encounter at Hoi Sum Park on Thursday (May 29), Yau Tsim Mong clinched a dramatic 3:2 victory over Po Nga Football Club in the Jockey Club Futsal League (Division 2), securing the runners-up spot in impressive fashion.

The opening exchanges saw both sides adopting a cautious approach, but it was Po Nga Football Club who drew first blood in the 5th minute. Chan Yuen Kwan unleashed a spectacular effort from distance that took a wicked deflection before nestling in the back of the net, making it 1:0.

Po Nga Football Club nearly doubled their advantage moments later, as p6 carved out space on the right flank, only to see his thunderous strike expertly parried away by Yau Tsim Mong's shot-stopper, Chu Shing Yuk.

As the half progressed, Yau Tsim Mong began to assert their dominance. The 11th minute saw Chan Tsz Fung showcase brilliant footwork to create space on the right, but his effort sailed over the crossbar. Five minutes later, Ho Wai Ching's dangerous cross took a deflection goalward, forcing Wan Tsz Him into an acrobatic save.

The match exploded into life just before the interval. In the 16th minute, Po Nga Football Club’s Kwok Pui Wang inadvertently turned the ball into his own net, leveling the scores. The momentum shifted dramatically as Yau Tsim Mong's Ma Ho Keung displayed clinical composure to slot home a one-on-one opportunity, only for Po Nga Football Club's to restore parity with a fierce drive after pouncing on a defensive blunder.

After an action-packed first half ending 2:2, the tempo notably decreased after the break. The 24th minute saw Yau Tsim Mong's Ho Wai Ching test the keeper with an acute angle attempt from the left channel.

A gilt-edged opportunity went begging in the 32nd minute when Yau Tsim Mong's Yan Ronald Chi Kan threaded a sublime through ball, but the unmarked Lin Ho Pan could only find the side netting from point-blank range.

The decisive moment arrived in the 36th minute as Yau Tsim Mong's Wong Ho Man collected a precise pass from the right wing before unleashing an unstoppable drive from outside the box to make it 3:2.

Despite a late siege from Po Nga Football Club, with So Yau Ting and Louie Ka Chun both squandering chances to equalize, Yau Tsim Mong held firm to secure the victory by 3:2 and cement their position as runners-up in this season's Jockey Club Futsal League (Division 2) campaign.
