2020-2021 Hong Kong Premier Youth League

In the Hong Kong Football Association 5 Years Strategic Plan, one of the key aspects is to upraise the standard of local youth development.  To comply with the 5 Year Strategic Plan, the reformation of youth competition is necessary. The Association would like to introduce the future development in youth competition, with the aim to raise the standard of the local young players. In order to the better utilize the resources towards local elite young players, the Association would be reforming the structure of youth competition, starting from 2020/21 season, the Association would be launching the “Hong Kong Premier Youth League”, while the “Jockey Club Youth Football League” remains.

With the reformation in youth competition, the Association aims to provide a more competitive platform with more training hours for the elite youth players. With the support of more resources, the youth players should be able to sustainably develop themselves, and hope to provide more young players for the Hong Kong Youth Representative Teams to strike for excellent results in youth international level.  Meanwhile, it provides the opportunity for clubs to build up their own youth teams in different ages, and to recruit the best young players. Not only to benefit the sustainable development of local clubs, but also to provide the opportunities for elite youth players to become professional players in top local clubs.

There are 3 age groups within the Hong Kong Premier Youth Leagues, including U14, U16 and U18. The competition is now open for applications and the deadline will be on 12 March, 2021. The 2020-21 Hong Kong Premier League clubs have priority to join the competition and the remaining places will be determined by specific point system. For more details, please find the regulations of The Hong Kong Premier Youth League.

(The League may be adjusted due to COVID-19 outbreak situation and venue arrangement by Leisure and Cultural Services Department).
