2015-2016 Jockey Club Girls’ League (FA Cup)
2015-2016 ‘Jockey Club Girls’ League (FA Cup)’ is organized by The Hong Kong Football Association (HKFA), The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust as the major partner and subvented by Leisure and Cultural Services Department.
The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust has donated some HK$120 million to the Hong Kong Football Association (HKFA) to implement the Jockey Club HKFA 5-Year Football Development Programme. This first-ever holistic programme encompasses a wide range of systematic training opportunities, competitions and tournaments targeted at young people in the belief that football can instil positive values in youths.
The Jockey Club Girls’ League (FA Cup) will begin in May 2016, Women’s football as part of 5-Year Programme, apart from the current ‘Jockey Club Girls’ League’, the FA Cup aims to provide more playing opportunities for youth women footballers in order to sustainably develop local women’s football.
There are 4 teams for the FA Cup this season, including Chelsea FC Soccer School(HK), Citizen, Kowloon Cricket Club and Major League Football Academy. The Jockey Club Girls’ League (FA Cup) will be playing in 2 stages. 4 teams will be playing with a single robin system for group stage; and they will go to the knockout stage for the cup title.
Chelsea FC Soccer School (HK) and Kowloon Cricket Club met up for the final on 19 June 2016 and Chelsea FC Soccer School(HK) won the cup after penalty shootout, goalkeeper of Chelsea FC Soccer School(HK), Ng Cheuk-wai won the MVP award for the final.
