2019 AFC U-16 Women's Championship

 

Hong Kong Women's FIFA Referee Law Bik Chi was appointed by the Asian Football Confederation to officiate in the final round of the 2019 AFC U-16 Women's Championship which was held in Thailand in September. She was further appointed as the Referee of the Final between two world class teams Japan and DPR Korea due to her outstanding performance throughout the tournament. The match went well and smoothly under her excellent control in which her performance was once again recognized by the Asian Football Confederation’s Referees Assessor.

 

 

 

 


Hong Kong FA Women's Referee programme 2019

 

To encourage more women to participate into the football activities and to increase the number of women’s referees by implementing specific program for women,The Hong Kong Football Association’s Referee Department held Hong Kong FA Women's Referee programme 2019 on 15th ,17th August 2019.

We are delighted that the programme is sponsored by the Good Cause Money from the English Premier League Asian Trophy, and we are honored to invite Ms. Sian Massey from the UK, who is a FIFA Women Assistant Referee as well as Assistant Referee in the English Premier League (EPL) and the English Football League Trophy (EFL Trophy) for the programme instructor.

The best 2 women’s referees (the results of written test, classroom and practical training performance) will have the chance to be nominated for the referee training program in England.

Referee Training Camp

 

The Hong Kong Football Association Referees Department held a three-day referee training camp from August 09-11, 2019. We are honored to invite Mr. Ali Ahmed Al Traifi (FIFA Referee Instructor) as a mentor to the training camp. The training camp includes classroom seminars, practical training and we also invited 7  Hong Kong Premier League’s teams and 3 Hong Kong First Division’s teams to pre-season matches. We hope to enhance the international views, skills and knowledge of local referees through this training camp. It will also enable local referees to move towards more professionalism.

 

 

   

 

   

 

 


Overseas Appointment

 

Hong Kong Men's FIFA Referee Liu Kwok Man has always been recognized by the Asian Football Confederation. On November 3, 2018, he was appointed to the first leg of the Asian Champions League Cup final (Kashima Antlers vs. Persepolis) as one of the match officials and became the first Hong Kong referee to officiate at Asian Champions League Cup final in history.

Hong Kong Men's FIFA Assistant Referee Law Ming Leong was appointed by the Asian Football Confederation to officiate in the final round of the AFC U-19 Championships held in Indonesia from October to November, 2018. This was his debut appearance in AFC important tournament. He was selected as the Assistant Referee for the final match due to his outstanding performance throughout the tournament.

Training Camp 2018

 

The Hong Kong Football Association Referees Department will hold a three-day referee training camp from June 16-18, 2018 for the first time. We are honored to invite Mr. Mike Riley (Managing Director of PGMOL) as a mentor to the training camp, also Mr. Christopher Kavanagh, a current Select Group 1 referee and Mr. Richard Beeby, Head of National List Performance, to share the latest assessment criteria to the referees of the Hong Kong Football Association. The training camp includes classroom seminars, practical training and physical fitness test. Registered referees who are interested in participating are welcome. We hope to enhance the international views, skills and knowledge of local referees through this training camp. It will also enable local referees to move towards more professionalism.

 

    

    

    

    

 

PGMOL Exchange Programme 2018

 

We are delighted to have Ms. Sian Massey from the UK, who is a FIFA Women Assistant Referee as well as Assistant Referee in the English Premier League (EPL) and the English Football League Trophy (EFL Trophy) for an exchange programme in Hong Kong from 12 April to 23 April. Sian will attend to the local referee's training during her stay in Hong Kong and will be appointed as match officials in serveral matches.

 

 

  

Turkey Training Camp

 

The Turkey Training Camp was successfully held from the 26 January to 5 February 2018 at Antalya, Turkey. The HKFA Referees Department sent two Class 2 referees to participate this 10-day training camp, together with others protential referees from the Football Association of Thailand.

                        

OSC Friends of Asia HK 5-a-Side Football Tournament 2017

 

The 20th Operation Santa Claus Friends of Asia HK 5-a-Side Football Tournament was successfully held on 10 December. We, as HKFA Referees Department are proudly to be voluntereed in such a meaningful charity event. A total of 10 corporate teams geared up for playoffs, and after some serious kicking, tackling and striking action, the Hong Kong Football Club was crowned the Champion! Thanks to the overwhelming support from various teams and organisations, especially Friends of Asia HK (through its affiliation of Asian Foundation), who pledged a dollar-to-dollar contribution, the event raised a total of HK$1,000,000 to support the less fortunate in our community.

 

 

 

 

 

 

FIFA Member Association Refereeing Course 2017 - Hong Kong

 

Under the Refereeing Assistance Programme (RAP) of FIFA, FIFA Member Association Course 2017 - Hong Kong has been held successfully during 13 – 16 December 2017 in Hong Kong. This Course focused on education on our potential referees and young talented referees, there were totally 34 local referees and 2 JFA referees participated, all of the participants would benefit from this course.

 

  

 

 

 

 

Fair Trade Charity Football Macth

The Fair Trade Charity Football Match orginized by Fair Trade Hong Kong Foundation was successfully held on the 28th October 2017. The tournament aimed to let particiapnts understand the idea of Fair Trade and football producers. This year, we invited some of the experienced senior referees to officiate the games. They utlized their professional refereeing technique in the games, which was another special way to do charity.

 

 

 

Annual Referee Conference 2017

 

Annual Referee Conference 2017 had been held successfully on 14th October 2017 in Hong Kong Sports Institute. It came to the third conference since 2015,  and this year theme was "Involvement". This year conference conducted into two sessions, a firendly football match, and the prize and guest presentation ceremony, which consisting of referees promoting guidelines, general administration information etc... We were honored to have Mr. Adachi (HKFA Eilte Development Coach) to share "Co-operation between Coach & Referee" with our referees. All Referee Instructors, Referee Assessors, and Referees were invited to participate in this Conference; all participants were well inspired and surely could benefit their refereeing development.

 

 

 

Premier Skills Referee Course 2017

 

Premier Skills Referee Couese 2017 had been held successfully from 15th to 17th July 2017 in the Happy Valley Recreation Ground. This year's theme is 'Women Participation", which we had a total of 7 women young referees took part in the program and they all have enjoyed the 3 day course with practical and seminar session.

 

The objectives of this program are mainly to promote the refereeing technique, improve the knowledge on the Laws of the Game of soccer and to arouse the interest of young people on refereeing. This is a tailor-made program emphasizing on leadership skills designed to benefit the participants' communities. As prestige referees of PGMOL will be invited as the instructors for the program and together with our young referees from other countries of Asia. Therefore this will be a precious opportunity for our young referees to improve their knowledge and widen their exposure from this program.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Dallas Cup 2017

 

The HKFA would like to take this chance to thanks The Dallas Cup for the opportunity that given to the HKFA referees to participated in such a fantastic tournament - Dr. Pepper Dallas Cup 2017. The event was held in April. The Dallas Cup Official are working closely with Federations from around the world to attract, develop, and showcase premier referees. The level of competition at the tournament will provide the referee participants with many opportunities and will benefit both the referees and the tournament.

Premier League Exchange Programme 2017

 

 

Law Bik Chi (Gigi) had been represented HKFA referees department in the first ever exchange prgroamme with the Premier League in Feb 2017. She attended the BPL referee selection group 1 and 2 regular course in St. George's Park and Warwick University.

 

 

Gigi not only get the chance to had an interview with Sky Sports TV, she also had the opportunity to officiated 2 matches in Women Super League. The first match was WSL Sheffield VS Doncaster and the second match was Watford Ladies VS London Bees.

AFC U - 19 Championship Bahrain 2016

 

FOK Pong Shing who had been appointed to officiate at the AFC U - 19 Championship Bahrain 2016 from 13 to 30 October 2016 in Manama, Bahrain.

AFF Women's Championship 2016

One Hong Kong Women Referee Ms. LAW Bik Chi has been given the honour of officiating in the AFF Women's Championship 2016 from 26 July to 4 August 2016 in Mandalay, Myanmar.

 

It was a great success that Gigi was selected to be the Referee for both Semi Final (AUSTRALIA U20 vs THAILAND) and 3rd Place Match (AUSTRALIA U20 vs MYANMAR).

It came to the second conference since last year,  which consisting of the updates on the Laws of the Game, related information for new season, seminars and awards presentation. We were honored to have Mr. Ali AlTraifi (FIFA / AFC Referees Instructor), Mr. Peter WONG, and Physiotherapist - Lee Wai Chun, Arthur to conduct two seminars and a Tape Workshop for our referees. All Referee Instructors, Referee Assessors, and Referees were invited to participate in this Conference; all participants were well inspired and surely could benefit their refereeing development.

 

 

 

 

FIFA Member Association Refereeing Course 2016 - Hong Kong

 

Under the Refereeing Assistance Programme (RAP) of FIFA, FIFA Member Association Course 2016 - Hong Kong has been held successfully during 13 – 17 July 2016 in Hong Kogn Sports Institute and Jockey Club Kitchee Centre. This Course focused on education on our local top class referees and young talented referees, there were totally 35 Top Referees and Young Referees participated, all of the participants would benefit from this course.
