The Caroliners into the semi-final


South China defeated Fukien by 6-1 in the first round of the FA Cup. The match between Buler Rangers and Xiangxue Pharmaceutical was postponed due to torrential rain and thunderstorms. 

South China rested the key players against HKFC in midweek. They are back to full strength against Fukien in the first round of the FA Cup. First half goals from Au Wai-lun and Kim Dae Chul help SCAA cruising to a 2-0 lead to the half time break. SCAA continued to attack in the 2nd half despite of the heavy rain. In the 54th minute, Fukien skipper Emerson Leite headed Lee Kin-wo's pin-point cross into his own net under pressure from Kim Dae Chul. 14 minutes later, Chan Chi-hong evaded Chiu Chun-kit down the left flank with speed, and shot into the far post from a tight angle. After another 5 minutes, SCAA 'keeper Chung Ho-yin could hold Charles Benin's long range effort and the ball run into the goal through his hands, 4-1. In the 80th minute, Chan Ho-man controlled a pass from Lee Kin-wo and calmly side-footed into the goal, 5-1. Four minutes later, Fukien 'keeper Cheng Ho-man parried Chan Ho-man's powerful shot and Kim Dae Chul was able to pounce the ball into the empty goal. FT: 6-1. 

The 2nd match went underway with heavy rain. In the 20th minute, Xiangxue defender Li Zhixing put the ball into his own net after a corner from Chan Yiu-lun. Xiangxue equalised within 1 minute after restart, with Chen Yuping evaded the defenders and scored, 1-1. In the 32th minute, thunderstorms can be heard over the pitch and the referee decided to postpone the match to wednesday at 14:00.
