FA Cup: Sun Hei and Happy Valley enter semi-final

Two quarter finals of the Xiangxue Pharmaceutical FA Cup were played on May 1st. Sun Hei beat Fukien by 1-0, while Happy Valley came back from behind to sink Buler Rangers by 3-2 after extra time, thanks to a hat trick by Oliveira. HVAA vs Buler Rangers - both teams were eager to play attacking football right from the start. Agbo Fofo was felled in the penalty area midway through the half, Mihailo Jovanovic made no mistake from the spot, 0-1. Both teams continued to attack after the break. Rangers' Yip Chi-ho's shot hit the post, while HVAA's Marcio Anacleto blasted over the bar from 8 yards. Rangers doubled their lead in the 58th minute when Fan Chun-yip failed to make contact with the ball when trying to punch a ball from a corner, Agbo Fofo was on hand to put the ball into the empty goal, 0-2. HVAA made it 1-2 in the 60th minute through Oliveira's shot from rebound. Rangers almost added a third through a counter attack but Leung Chi-kui's attempt agonisingly hit the post. Happy Valley finally equalised in the 86th minute, much to the scorer Oliveira's delight. The game went into extra time. Both teams had chances during extra time, but Oliveira capitalised on a free kick and scored, making the final score 3-2. They will face Sunray Cave in the semi-final. The referee showed 10 yellow cards and 2 red cards during the game, and Happy Valley players and officials were obviously not contented with some of the referee's decisions. ===== Earlier in the day, Sun Hei defeated Fukien narrowly by 1-0 despite being in total control of the goal. The goal was scored in the 41st minute by Chan Ho-man, whose double headers both hit the bar before scoring from rebound. Sun Hei will face the challenge of Kitchee in the semi-final. FT: 1-0.
