2015-16 BOCG Life Hong Kong Premier League – Dreams Metro Gallery 1:1 Kwoon Chung Southern


Dreams Metro Gallery and Kwoon Chung Southern squared off on a rainy Sunday afternoon in Sham Shui Po Sports Ground for the latest fixture in the BOCG Life Hong Kong Premier League. Both sides competed hard in a wildly entertaining game but had to settle for a 1:1 draw after ninety minutes.

Kwoon Chung Southern came close to opening the score on the 2nd minute, when Emmet Wan stepped up outside the Dreams Metro Gallery box and drilled a sizzling low shot that was brilliantly paved away by keeper Pang Tsz-kin. Pang then quickly gathered himself and smothered the loose ball, defusing the danger.

Moments later, the visitors came knocking on the Dreams Metro Gallery door once again. On the 6th minute, Shay Spitz delivered a low cross towards the Dreams Metro Gallery goal-mouth and created some confusion for the home side. Jonathan Carril launched himself to the loose ball but fired it wide from a rather tight angle.

The slippery wet playing surface affected both sides and it took more than twenty minutes for the next attack to occur. On the 29th minute, Leonidas Soares’ corner-kick found teammate Pablo Gallardo at the far-post. The Dreams Metro Gallery defender leapt high but nodded the ball wide.

Dreams Metro Gallery had a rare chance on the 38th minute, when Chung Wai-keung picked up the ball through a teammate’s lovely forward pass. The Dreams Metro Gallery attacker unleashed a running shot that was nicely saved by Kwoon Chung Southern keeper Wong Tsz-him. The game remained scoreless heading into the half time interval.

Kwoon Chung Southern had a glorious chance to break the game open on the 47th minute, when James Ha showed off blazing speed down the left wing and penetrated deep inside the Dreams Metro Gallery box. Ha then drilled a low shot but was denied by Pang Tsz-kin in the Dreams Metro Gallery net.

The visitors managed to take the lead on the 53rd minute, when Wellingsson De Souza’s free-kick was headed home by a leaping Jose Diaz. Kwoon Chung Southern was now up by a goal.

Kwoon Chung Southern had another chance to add to the lead on the 62nd minute, when Wellingsson De Souza’s low shot narrowly missed hitting the target.

Dreams Metro Gallery tied the game on the 64th minute. Leonidas Soares did all the dirty work on the right side, then shook off his marker before picking out Yiu Ho-ming with a slick pass. The latter took care of the rest and slotted the ball home with ease, making it 1:1.

Kwoon Chung Southern almost regained the lead on the 70th minute through a set play. Wellingsson De Souza swung a swirling corner-kick into the box and found Olivier Ngue. The latter headed the ball towards the Dreams Metro Gallery net, only to see his effort hitting the crossbar and stayed out of the net.

The Hong Kong Island side probably should have gone in front on the 76th minute. This time, Olivier Ngue went down the right wing before sending the ball to the Dreams Metro Gallery box. Wellingsson De Souza took his time with the ball before firing. Unfortunately for the Brazilian, his shot hit the woodwork and went out of play.

Moments later, Chung Wai-keung, Kenji Fukuda and Eugene Mbome all had chances to put Dreams Metro Gallery in front. Unfortunately, all their efforts failed to find the back of the Kwoon Chung Southern net. The game remained tied at 1:1

Late in the game, Kwoon Chung Southern’s James Ha had a great chance to win the game for his side. Unfortunately, Ha’s lob shot towards the Dreams Metro Gallery net went high over the crossbar.

Both sides failed to add to the score in the remaining minutes, as Dreams Metro Gallery and Kwoon Chung Southern shook hands on a well fought 1:1 draw.
