Dreams Metro Gallery hosted Eastern on Saturday afternoon for the solo BOCG Life Hong Kong Premier League fixture of the day. Eastern’s potent firepower was on full display, as the visitors defeated Dreams Metro Gallery 4:0 to take home maximum points.
Eastern had a glorious chance to open the score on the 7th minute, when Xu Deshuai broke behind the Dreams Metro Gallery defense and unleashed a shot towards goal that got past keeper Pang Tsz-kin. Unfortunately for the visitors, a Dreams Metro Gallery player managed to clear the ball off the goal-line in time to keep the game scoreless.
The visitors continued to storm towards Dreams Metro Gallery shortly afterwards. On the 11th minute, Giovane Da Silva tried his luck with a long-range bomb from just outside the box. However, the Eastern striker blasted the ball too straight and saw his effort easily handled by keeper Pang Tsz-kin in the Dreams Metro Gallery net.
Eastern opened the score on the 17th minute, when Xu Deshai’s free-kick from the right-side was powered home by a Clayton Afonso header. The visitors were now up with an early lead.
Giovane Da Silva should have scored for Eastern on the 20th minute, when the Brazilian forward connected with a Michel Lugo cross from the left-side but somehow smashed the ball over the crossbar from goal-mouth range. It was an unbelievable miss by Da Silva’s usual high standards.
Dreams Metro Gallery had a half-decent chance to tie the game on the 32nd minute, when Chung Wai-keung floated a cross into the Eastern danger area. Kenji Fukuda attempted to latch onto the ball but arrived just late and missed out on connecting.
The home side generated another scoring chance on the 40th minute. This time, Pablo Gallardo found himself on the receiving end of a teammate’s free-kick and sent a lovely header towards the Eastern goal. The ball looked set to end up in the net but was cleared away by an Eastern player at the very last minute, enabling Eastern to hold onto its lead.
Eastern doubled its lead on the 52nd minute, when Michel Lugo headed Xu Deshuai’s corner-kick straight into the Dreams Metro Gallery net. The premier league leader was now slowly pulling away.
Dreams Metro Gallery came close to getting on the scoreboard on the 72nd minute, when Lai Lok-yin sent Leonidas Soares through with a fine pass. The latter dully fired away but could not get his shot past keeper Yapp Hung-fai in the Eastern goal.
Eastern made it 3:0 on the 88th minute, when Giovane Da Silva’s free-kick was saved by Dreams Metro Gallery keeper Pang Tsz-kin. However, the latter could not hold onto the ball, allowing Andy Naegelein to send the rebound into the net.
Right on the 90th minute mark, Michel Lugo spun and fired from the top of the box, Dreams Metro Gallery keeper Pang Tsz-kin got a hand on the ball but could not prevent it from entering the net. The score was now 4:0 for the visitors.
The 4:0 score stood towards the final whistle, as Eastern went all guns blazing and put four goals past Dreams Metro Gallery in an impressive away victory.
